Pennine Rendezvous 2015

The Pennine Rendezvous started as a pleasure ride in the South Pennines in 1989 and ran annually up to 2003, with rides attracting between 60 and 130 riders. Each year the Rendezvous was hosted by a different group. The Rendezvous format is simple: a central venue is chosen for the Rendezvous itself and local groups then work out a route to the venue and a route home – preferably by a different way. The object is to introduce people to the beauty of the South Pennines with its multiplicity of historic routes. Venues have included Blackstone Edge, Towneley Park, Mankinholes, Watergove, Marsden, Thameside, Oxenhope. . . .

Thanks to Bev and Mark Corringan of Kirklees Bridleway Group, the Pennine Rendezvous has been revived and the latest one took place on 24 May 2015, at Australia Farm in Meltham.  Plans are in hand for another Rendezvous next year in Shibden Dale, Halifax
